Happy New Year!

Well it is already 2009 and that means in a few months Mia will be two! Time really does fly by! We had a great Christmas and New Year, it seemed to go by so fast. BJ has been off work all week which is so nice. For New Year's Eve, my parents watched Mia so BJ and I could go to dinner and a movie. We had an excellent meal at Smith and Wollensky (I had the Chilean Sea Bass, BJ had the Filet Oscar) then went to see Quantum of Solace. We actually spent midnight in the car at a red light, but it was a fantastic evening out!

Not much else going on in the Hanley house, no resolutions, just going to work on organizing and cleaning up the basement. We wish you all a happy and healthy 2009!

Congrats to the Piqua Lottery Winners!

Congratulations to the Mega Millions lottery winners, all from Piqua!!! (My hometown if you didn't know) I don't think I know any of them, but I am sure my parents do. Also, thanks goes to the Kroger where the ticket was sold, they are donating the money they received from the lottery commission to Piqua charities!

This is why I drive a Honda

Click on the photo so you can read the fine print. I couldn't get it to post any bigger. Funny, set sad and true.

once again, I am lazy about posting

Sorry for my lack of posts, I have become addicted to Facebook! Another lame reason is that our computer is in the basement and it's freezing down here.

I haven't been very crafty, but here are pictures of our front landscaping that I finished a few months ago.

The stone is just basic limestone from northern Ohio and I got a great deal on the plants (late fall sale at Lowes). The rock wall was the easy part, planting the bushes and tree required a pick axe to break up the clay and crappy dirt. Thankfully I did not get a bigger tree for the end, as I don't think we would have been able to dig a big enough hole. I also planed a bunch of tulip and daffodil bulbs, so hopefully this spring I will have flowers! I know it will take a few years for everything to fill out, but it's so much better than before!

Veteran's Day

Happy Veteran's Day! I dedicate this post to my grandfathers and my father-in-law.
Okee Sterling, Thomas Kohl Sr., and Peter Hanley. Also to my cousin Jacob who is in the Air Force, and who will be starting a tour in Afghanistan in January.

Thank a veteran today!

Voting Day!!!

I hope everybody out there who reads this blog (all 3 of you) went out and voted today or did an early vote. I voted this morning and didn't have to wait at all. Even better, I can walk to our voting location and the weather was beautiful.

VOTE, it's our civic duty!
