More Flower Pictues

I was going to post these a few weeks ago, but our old computer was freezing up on me. Anyway, here are more pictures from my parents' flower garden.

So Much To Do...

Things have been going well in the Hanley household. We finally moved most of our office to the basement and set up our new computer. It is awesome to use a computer that does not freeze up every day for no reason. The old office/new baby's room is still a mess with junk all over the floor. Hopefully this week we can get that cleaned up. There is just so much work to do on our house that it is a bit overwhelming, and since I don't want to be around any paint fumes things will have to wait.

I have been feeling pretty good, just very tired. The 90 degree weather is not helping my energy level, it is just so hot and humid outside. Yesterday I bought my first pair of maternity pants at Old Navy. I don't need them yet, I have only put on about 2 pounds. I thought I should have one pair in case one morning I suddenly don't fit into my regular pants. Luckily I don't have to dress up for work so I don't need to buy a ton of clothes. I would rather buy baby clothes, they are so much cuter.

Work has been ok, the past two months have been really busy and I seem to hit the wall around 2:30 with no energy to do anything. I told everybody at work that I am pregnant, but haven't discussed with my boss my after baby plans. I think he will cry when I tell him I am not going to work full time. There isn't anyone currently there to replace me. I really don't know what I could do part time, but we will see. I won't be upset if I end of not working there at all after the baby, the past few months have been so annoying that if I wasn't pregnant, I would probably be looking for a new job. I think most people feel overworked and underpaid, but things have been out of control lately.

Shark week is starting on The Discovery Channel so I am looking forward to some good tv this week. I love sharks, they are awesome.

Have a good week!

A Bun In The Oven

As some of my blog readers may not have heard...I am pregnant!!

B.J. and I are very excited. My due date is February 19th, and so far I am feeling pretty good. I haven't had any morning sickness, just waves of nausea throughout the day. I am not craving any foods, I am just really thirsty all the time. I can no longer eat pork and an having trouble eating any meat, it just does not appeal to me. Coffee tastes like pennies, which is ok since I shouldn't be drinking it anyway.

I will have more updates to come, we have started to clear out our office to make it the baby's room so I will definately blog about that. As soon as we get our new computer set up in the basement I can post pictures.

I have to say, I am thrilled about being pregnant!

He makes Alaska look dumb

Did anybody catch the Daily Show episode last week that made fun of Senator Ted Stevens (R-AK) speech about the internet? "The internet is not a truck, but a series of tubes...." If you have not seen this episode you can probably watch it on Comedy Central's website.

From this article in the NY Times, apparently other people thought his speech was hilarious.

Disgusting

We had two visitors on our front porch tonight.

These are the biggest slugs I have ever seen. I don't know what they were doing to each other, but they are gross!!

Interesting

During lunch I read an article in the NY Times, "What Shamu Taught Me About a Happy Marriage".

I thought it was funny and interesting, yet if I was a guy I might be offended. Might.

I am lazy

Today I have been the laziest person ever. The only thing I have accomplished today is one load of laundry and it's still in the dryer. Here is a summary of my day:
9:45am Get out of bed.
10:50am B.J. and I go see Pirates of the Caribbean 2.
2:00pm Stop at Franks Fruit Farm and buy some cherries, tomatoes, and green pepper.
2:15pm Get food at Taco Bell/Pizza Hut, I have the personal pan cheese pizza. It was awesome.
3:30pm I decide to take a nap.
5:45pm Force myself to wake up from nap and get off the couch. I sit around for about a half hour trying to wake up.
6:15pm Watch tv, decide I am not going to cook dinner.
7:30pm Get food at Wendy's.
8:10pm Eat and watch 40 Year Old Virgin on HBO.
10:45pm Post blog entry about how lazy I am.

In other news, Pirates of the Caribbean was pretty good, not great, but entertaining. B.J. and I are reminded why we don't go to see movies at the theater, since there was at least one newborn, many children around the age of 5 and under sitting in front of us (the movie is not appropriate for that age group) and a bunch of teenage girls who thought everything was hilarious and laughed loudly throughout the whole movie. That was weird and annoying. We do not have the best movie going experiences.

Tomorrow I should be more productive since I have to work in the morning and then we are going to my parents for a cookout with some of the Kohl family.

I really am amazed at my lack of ambition today. Hopefully I will snap out of it and get something done tomorrow.

Landscaping Part Deux

The following are pictures of my backyard landscaping project. I am almost done, just need about 5 more rocks for the area in front of the garage. I think it looks good, it will look much better when the flowers fill out.

I planted three Hostas and begonias since this area is mostly shaded.

I used the wet saw at work to cut the rock in half to line the area around the garage. I started to double stack, but I ran out of rock.

The following is what happens to flowers when a dog steps on them. Flanagan "Jerkstore" Hanley strikes again!

Long Weekend

To start off the holiday weekend, last night B.J. and I watched the fireworks on Wright-Patt Air Force Base. We didn't go on base this year, but watched in a shopping center parking lot across the street. A ton of other people had the same idea. It was a good show, I love fireworks.

To celebrate the birth of the USA, I am taking four days off of work. This is awesome since I usually have to work for at least a few hours every weekend. I am not going back to work until the 5th! I haven't taken this much time off since we went to Hawaii last year. I am in need of this mini vacation since work has been trying my patience lately. I have a ton of stuff planned. Today I am going to do a little Target and Old Navy shopping then tonight we are going to Cincinnati for the Red/Indians game. Go Indians!!! Tomorrow I have a ton of yard work planned starting with a trip to Lowes for soil, mulch, and plants. Then I will finish the corner of our yard. (See previous post) Monday I have more yard work, some cleaning, and hopefully meeting up with Soha for lunch. On the 4th we are going to B.J.'s parents for a cookout. A full weekend is planned, we will see how much I will actually get done.

Have a great weekend!
