Allergies

I found this news story about the worst allery season in years and I believe it. Not only do B.J. and I have allergy issues right now, Flanagan does also. He has been chewing on his feet lately, so when B.J. took him to the vet they told us to give him 25mg of Benadryl twice a day. Hopefully that will work.

On a side note, thanks to everyone for their book suggestions!

Reading is Fun!

I finally read "The Da Vinci Code", and I loved it. I hope the movie is just as good as the book.

Now I am reading "State of Fear" by Michael Crichton. I am a big fan of all his other books and hopefully this one is good. I am about three chapters in and so far its ok. Considering almost all of his other books were turned into movies (Jurassic Park, Congo, Sphere, etc) I wonder if this one will be too.

Just some facts about me, here are my two favorite authors and novels:
1. Kurt Vonnegut - "Cats Cradle"
2. Ray Bradbury - "The Martian Cronicles"

If anyone has any suggestions on a good book, let me know. I am always looking for a good read.

Stress!!!!

Well it's finally Friday, but instead of being happy I am stressed out. Work has been crazy busy and I know I will have to work 4+ hours on Sunday. I have so much to do I am feeling overwhelmed. Yesterday I was on the verge of yelling at my employees and firing everyone. But instead I ate some chocolate.

I am looking forward to my birthday (5/15) when B.J. and I are taking a mini vacation to Put-In-Bay for a two night stay at a bed and breakfast. I am in desperate need of a vacation.

Ok, hopefully I can make it through the day without losing my mind.

Have a good weekend everybody.

I Got Gas

I am so happy I stopped to get gas this morning, at 7:30am I filled up my tank for $2.59 a gallon. Now gas is $2.89 a gallon, ugh.

Golf (Update)

Yesterday was the Kohl family Easter gathering at my grandparents house. Good times and good food were had by all. While we were there, my grandpa gave B.J. and I his golf clubs. I haven't hit a golf ball (excluding putting) since high school, but I am thinking that I should learn. The problem I have is that I have terrible hand-eye cordination, but I think I will pick up some wiffle balls this weekend and try the clubs out in the back yard. Hopefully I don't hurt anybody.

Now the link to my grandpa works.

Miami Univ. In The News

Two professors in the Miami geology department took part in a very important archeological dig in Africa. Dr. Hart was my advisor and my favorite professor. The notoriety this brings to the Miami geology department is awesome.

New Toys

Since the weather was so warm today I thought Flanagan could use some new toys. Here are a few pictures of him enjoying a new frisbee and rubber stick.

Bushisms

Hilarious! Slate is one of my favorite news sites.

The Dogs of Bedlam Farm

I just finished reading The Dogs of Bedlam Farm by Jon Katz. I give it 3 out of 5 stars. The autor tells his story of life on a farm with his dogs. It's a nice story, and if you like dogs you will probably like the book. I enjoy Jon Katz' short stories on Slate, so I thought I would check out his book. His writing style takes some getting used to since his is kind of spastic, but overall is was a good quick read. I was looking for a lighthearted easy read, and that's what this book is.

Am I the only person in America who has not readThe Da Vinci Code? That will be next since everybody says its so good.

Have a good weekend everybody!

Crazy Weather

Yesterday was 75 degrees, today it is 40 degrees. Ugh.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Today my mom is 56 years young, and she looks great! As an early birthday present, the Indians beat the Sox yesterday, so I am sure she was thrilled about that.

So far it's been an ok day at work, I am leaving at 3:30 so it's a short day for me. Tonight B.J. and I are going to a fundraser for a friend of the family, Tim O'Connell, who is running for judge in Montgomery County. Hopefully the food is good, at least I don't have to cook dinner tonight.

Today is opening day for the Dayton Dragons, lets hope this season is better than the past few years.

I need to finish lunch now, later kids.

Mmmmm, lunch.

Flanagan McGreenfeet

Flanagan has stinky feet.

Annoying

Today was the day of annoying clients at work. One guy called and kept asking me questions about who we did work for and what kinds of tests had we run for them, all which I could not tell him because that info is confidential. He then kept rephrasing the question and was talking very fast in hopes he would confuse me. (I know he was trying to do this, it happens more often than you would think.) This call lasted for over 5 minutes, and finally at the end he said, "Thanks for your help sweetheart, I will call you back later" and hung up. SWEETHEART! What the F? Luckily he never called me back. I know the construction/mining is a male dominated industry, but come on.

Tonight should be a nice evening, I plan on playing with Flanagan after dinner, watching some tv, and reading. Nice and relaxing.

Not a Fan

I watch the CBS evening news every day, and I am not thrilled about Katic Couric taking over the anchor spot. I am not a Katie Couric fan, she is too perky and something about her is irritating. I am sure she is a nice person, but not someone I feel can deliver the evening news.

Awesome

Growing organs? Amazing!

CC on the DL

Baseball season is finally here much to my delight. This means Dayton Dragons games which is my favorite thing to do in Dayton.

Good news, the Indians beat the Sox 8 to 2. This makes up for their pathetic showing on Sunday. Bad news is that CC Sabathia somehow strained his right abdominal muscle pitching and will proably go on the DL. Fat ass.

Not much else going on, I was hoping to post from work today but I was crazy busy. Looking forward to watching Scrubs tonight and DVRing Sons and Daughters. If you haven't seen S & D it's hilarious, but on at the same time as Scrubs. I love the DVR, that and Tivo could be the greatest inventions ever. Ever.

Zach Braff is awesome.

Greetings

Well since alot of people I know have a blog I figured I should have one also. Plus B.J. was getting tired of me telling him what to put in his blog. I think this is a good way to let everybody know what's going on in my life. Especially since all my friends from college live far away and I don't get to see or talk to them as much as I would like.

Thanks to B.J. for the title of my blog. I hope to post often and as a warning I will probably talk alot about Flanagan. I am obsessed with him. I won't be posting about my work, as construction materials testing is not an exciting topic, but Geology is so I will of course keep you all up on what's going on in that area. Just kidding, but not really.

Later.
